Dr. Ir. Gaurav Malik is a researcher in transportation systems and mobility policy, specializing in the modelling and analysis of strategic decision-making in urban transport. His work integrates transport economics, traffic engineering and operations research to examine pricing, infrastructure planning, and service design in complex mobility systems. He develops optimization- and equilibrium-based frameworks to evaluate efficiency, sustainability, and equity impacts of public and private mobility decisions. He will soon join the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), where he will contribute to evidence-based mobility policy and support the transition towards more sustainable, smart, safe and inclusive transport systems.
