After studying physics, Dr. Marc-André Funk worked as technical director of a German start-up, guiding it through to its successful IPO. He then joined DaimlerChrysler as product manager, responsible for the implementation of the core components of the world's first satellite-based tolling system. Later, he moved to a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom to design a next-generation tolling system. The resulting Tolling-as-a-Service offering is now used in Belgium and by Toll4Europe, the leading independent EETS provider, among others. Dr. Funk is currently CTO of T-Systems Road User Services GmbH, where he is responsible for the strategic development of the tolling platform and the company's agile organizational development.
